MDP

Overview of Services

The CeMM Molecular Discovery Platform provide state-of-the-art technologies hosted in a specifically designed laboratory. MDP is composed of 3 Facilities 1. Proteomics 2. Metabolomics 3. Chemical Screening

The mass spectrometry laboratory of Proteomics and Metabolomics Facilities have been designed to the highest standards with individual air-conditioned cubicles that ensure the highest quality of mass spectrometry (MS) based analysis with minimized impact of temperature variation or background chemical noise. The instrument park consists of triple quadrupole MS systems as well as high end Orbitrap-based MS instruments. The combination of mass spectrometers with ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) and nanoflow liquid chromatography (nano LC) enables unsurpassed performance in terms of flexibility of application, sensitivity and speed of analysis. The robust proteomic and metabolomic platforms incorporate modern industrial and academic concepts, i.e. quality control procedures and automated data processing pipelines. A highly skilled and motivated team is providing the service analysis with the goal to go beyond sample measurements and be an active part of your research quest.

The Chemical Screening Facility at CeMM provides internal and external researchers and project partners with access to chemical biology resources, including a 92,000 compound library as well as high-throughput and high-content screening equipment, to identify and characterize small molecules that affect new targets for studying biological processes and developing new drugs. A highly skilled and motivated team provides support during all stages, from library and compound selection to assay planning, computational and wet-lab assay preparation, assay execution and data analysis. We offer well established routine assays but are also able to implement special methods and provide support for assay development and miniaturization. Platform Instruments: Labcyte Echo 550 acoustic liquid handler, PerkinElmer Operetta HCS microscope, PerkinElmer EnVision multimodal plate-reader, PerkinElmer Janus 96-channel liquid handling station, Liconic STX110 automated incubator, MultiDrop liquid dispenser, BioTek Plate Washer 405 TS, Roche LightCycler 480 II, various support equipment

Instructions

MDP fulfills Service Request in 3 stages.

1: MDP User will complete Project Design Form

After log in, click request service in next page Request Services for new Project Design Form
User completes Project Design Form and clicks submit request to core
Pro-Met- will review Service Request and will either generate cost estimate or will ask for more information
User will follow instructions in Stage 2 after receiving cost estimate email from MDP

2: User (both researcher AND PI) Agrees Cost Estimate

both researcher and PI will receive an email from MDP for approval
both researcher and PI must click Agree
Tip: After MDP generates cost estimate, Project status in page View All Requests will change to Waiting for Researcher to Agree
Tip: After researcher clicks Agree, project status in page View All Requests will change to Waiting for Financial Approval
Tip: After PI clicks Agree, project status in page View All Requests will change to Waiting for Core to Begin

Important: In addition, PI must sign one-time Master Service Agreement (MSA). Upon PI clicking Agree, Service Request will be incorporated into MSA. Unless otherwise stated herein, all terms and conditions of the MSA will apply to Service Request

3: User hands over samples to MDP on pre-scheduled date (date scheduling function available in Project Design Form)

   MDP Will Start Service
Tip: project status will change to Processing
Tip: User can view project status in milestone Mass Spectrometry and Data Analysis
Tip: use add comment button located in View All Requests > Project ID > Forms and Request Details > below Mass Spectrometry and Data Analysis to communicate with MDP
