The Scientific-Technical Services of the University of the Balearic Islands (SCT) were created in 1985 as a general service with the aim of supporting researchers at the UIB. In addition to this basic objective, the SCT have as a mission to form a basis for the services that the University can give to the public and private institutions of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands in the scientific and technological field.
The SCT has specialized technical personnel, laboratories and a park of instruments that, given their peculiarities of specialization and high cost of acquisition and maintenance, are in many cases unique in this autonomous community.
